Just wanted to share my newest addition...ordered in for me by Ideal Aquatics! This fish has the most amazing coloration...just as vibrant as the pictures show!

Stunning fish, do you have a top on your aquarium? I lost my melanurus wrasse because he jumped, I now have a impenetrable mess on top of my aquarium. Assuming this guy burrows at night?

What's the going price on a fish like this?

Thanks Logan...and yes, I do have a mesh top...and yes, she does burrow at night. I am really into wrasses and this was at the top of my list. The next on my hit list is an Anampses Lennardi!

As for the going rate...it's alot! The great thing about Ideal is that they'll order fish like this in....knowing it was a bad shipper, they were still willing to take the risk. And even with that...the price was a lot cheaper than the other retailers that would pick one up for me. No guarantee...but the only one that will guarantee Anampses and Leopards is Live Aquaria/Diver's Den. I was willing to take the risk with Ideal because the price was far less. The last one DD had was $2,200 I believe!! The going rate seems to be $1,200-$1,500....

That's really cool they can get in such a rare fish at that reduced price. I think I would be a constant nervous wreck if I had a fish that expensive! Although I've had most of my fish for 4-5 years now...once established I think you can count on a long-healthy life with most fish, unless a tank crash or power failure occurs.

I'm actually planning on a large wrasse order in the next year or so, they're by far one of the most interesting fish out there. I doubt this guy will be on my list just yet!

That is an awesome wrasse. I hope it stays nice and healthy for a long time. :) What are its tank mates?
