View Full Version : Regal Angelfish Reef Safe?

I was just curious if regals are reef safe or not because Ive seen them in several SPS tanks. Does it just come down to individual speciments like with the other angels? These are my favorite type of angel and wanted to know if I could eventually get one. Thanks.

You are correct -luck of the draw my friend as with any other angel being "reef safe". Very bad survival rate on this fish. That does not mean you couldn't get lucky.

I am two for two with my angels. I have a red sea
angel and a majestic angel. No problems out of either of them. I dont think that I would trust them with any LPS. They dont bother any of my
7 clams or any SPS. Make sure you get a red sea
regal and not the pacific regal if you decide to try
one. I have a goldflake angel on order so I hope I have the same luck with it.
The best thing you can do is make sure they are
well fed so they dont have to resort to eating your corals.
